SHEEP NLIS TAGS
Our NLIS visual identification (VID) and electronic identification (EID/RFID) sheep tags are manufactured by Leaders Products and approved for use with the National Livestock Identification Scheme (NLIS).
Which colour NLIS Sheep Tag do I need?
> Year of Birth Colour System – use the national year of birth colour system for livestock bred/born on your property/PIC#
> Pink (Post-breeder) – use for sheep you have purchased or not bred/born on your property/PIC#
IMPORTANT – Electronic Identification (eID) tagging dates for sheep and goats:
– From the 1 January 2025 (all states and territories)
– All sheep and farmed goats born on or after this date must be identified with an approved species-specific NLIS eID device before leaving their property of birth.
