The Enviro tag is designed to handle the toughest conditions with great retention and read distance, these electronic identification cattle tags have been approved by NLIS, NAIT and ICAR.

Applicator: The Enviro tags are applied using the Applicator Two Piece Tags or Applicator Standard Deluxe.

Marking Options: Laser Printing ONLY,  the cattle NLIS tag markings is fixed set of details, which include:

  • The Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) Logo
  • Your Property Identification Code (PIC) Number, followed by LBN for White Breeder tags (eg AAAA1234LBN) and LEN for Orange Post-Breeder tags (eg AAAA1234LEN)
  • Over a series/serial number

Colours Available:

  • White (Breeder) – use for livestock bred/born on your property/PIC#
  • Orange (Post Breeder) – use for livestock you have purchased or not bred/born on your property/PIC#

State & Territory NLIS Ordering Requirements:

  • Queensland (QLD)
    If your property is in Queensland, to order an approved NLIS device or tag you must first obtain a Department of Primary Industry (DPI) Authority to purchase. Before placing an NLIS tag order on our website, contact Biosecurity Queensland (Tel: 13 25 23 or www.daf.qld.gov.au) and obtain an “Application for Permanent NLIS Device” form signed by a Queensland DPI inspector. This form will include the “DPI Order Number” and “DPI Expiry date” needed to be able to place an order on our website.
  • Tasmania (TAS)
    If your property is in Tasmania, to order an approved NLIS device or tag you must first register to use NLIS tags with the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE). Before placing an NLIS tag order on our website, contact DPIPWE (Tel: 1300 368 550 or Website: www.dpipwe.tas.gov.au) and obtain an “Application for NLIS Registration” signed by a DPIPWE Officer. This form will include the “Tasmanian ID Number” needed to be able to place an order on our website.
  • Victoria (VIC)
    If your property is in Victoria you can only order Management Tags from our website, you cannot order NLIS tags from this website. All NLIS cattle tags orders, for use in Victoria, must be processed by the Victorian state government. For more information click here – https://tags.agriculture.vic.gov.au/
  • Northern Territory (NT)
    If your property is in Northern Territory, to order an approved NLIS device or tag you must first register to use NLIS tags with the Northern Territory Department of Primary Industries and Resources. Before placing an NLIS tag order on our website, contact NT Department of Primary Industries and Resources (Tel: 08 8999 2031 or Website: www.nt.gov.au) and obtain an “Permanent NLIS Devices or RFID (for Cattle/buffalo or sheep/goats” form.
  • South Australia (SA)
    If your property is located South Australia you must pay a government levy of $1.50 per NLIS tag, no additional authorisation is required to order an approved NLIS device or tag. Please ensure you select “Yes” on the CIF Levy (South Australia ONLY) drop-down on our website.
  • All Other States
    If your property is in New South Wales (NSW) or Western Australia (WA) no additional authorisation is required to order an approved NLIS device or tag.

What are NLIS RFID Tags?

NLIS tags use electronic identification (EID) of livestock via radio frequency identification (RFID) devices such as an ear tag or stomach bolus. To be able to access data on NLIS tags they must be scanned by an RFID reader. RFID tags carry compulsory NLIS information such as an animal’s ownership and Property Identification Code (PIC). Other useful information, such as age, weight gain and breading history is also available.

  • NLIS tags can be matched with corresponding Management Tags for management use in the opposite ear to provide a complete Livestock ID system
