Leadertag Sheep Tag (Non-NLIS)
Leadertag sheep tags are designed for long-term retention, with stronger arms and a positive self-locking design, the curve recess always holds tags in the correct position.
NLIS Approval Status:
- The printing on the tag is NOT approved for NLIS use. If you require approved NLIS Sheep Tags go to the "Sheep NLIS Tags" section of our website
Marking Options:
Leadertag Sheep tags can be printed in the following options:
- Foil Stamping - Foil Stamping is the original tag marking method and can print to 9 characters (numbers/letters) on the Long Arm and 6 characters on the Short Arm
- Laser Printing - Laser marking enables more flexibility, allowing you to print up to 10 characters (numbers/letters) on the Long Arm and 10 characters on the Short Arm
IMPORTANT – Serial Numbers
- Serial numbers cannot be repeated on Leadertag NLIS Sheep Tags. If you order 10 Yellow with serial numbers 00001 - 00010, you cannot repeat those serial numbers on another colour. The exception to this is the Pink colour, which is considered a post breeder colour.

Year of Birth Colour System
It is strongly recommended that you use the national 'year of birth' colour system for breeder tags. The NLIS tag colours for lambs born in a particular year are listed below:
